Background
Ivan Todd was charged in the District of Columbia for misdemeanor conduct during the January 6, 2021, Capitol breach. Florida court records document separate state convictions before he received President Trump's January 2025 pardon on the federal case.
The Case
Federal charging documents placed Todd among rioters who entered restricted Capitol grounds and the building. He was pardoned before his Jan. 6 case was scheduled for sentencing. Florida records summarized by Lawfare show that in November 2021 he was convicted of felony possession of a controlled substance without a valid prescription and sentenced to 120 days in jail, and in June 2022 he was convicted of a misdemeanor for driving while his license was suspended and ordered to pay court costs in Alachua County. His Capitol conduct was part of the attack that disrupted the certification of the presidential election.
The Pardon
On January 20, 2025, President Trump granted Todd a full pardon under a proclamation covering certain offenses relating to the events at or near the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.
